Hi! My name is Scott Ballinger. I have been working with people for over 10 years. Prior to joining American Senior Benefits, I was the Head baseball coach at Nebraska Wesleyan University. My “above the line” standard for the program was based on outstanding character of players, academic success, and wins. After feeling unsatisfied with the “on the field” progress in the baseball program, I decided to resign as head coach and make a career change to a field where I could truly make a difference.
I’m passionate about educating people, committed to building strong relationships, and dedicated to helping those I meet. I look forward to helping you with these difficult decisions and guiding you in the right direction.
John Kohles

Hello! My name is John Kohles. For 20 years, I have been in the business of serving people. After graduating from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, I started my career at Allstate/Lincoln Benefit Life where I held a variety of roles in customer service for 15 years. I started out as a frontline representative learning the ins and outs of life insurance and annuities.
My commitment to that role led to opportunities with increasing responsibilities. Those roles included quality analyst, frontline leader, and finally leading my own division. After an announcement was made that would eventually eliminate my position, I took on a new challenge in the technology world as a support manager. I had three teams totaling 40 employees that supported seven different real estate technology products for agents and brokers around the world.
While leading people continued to be a passion of mine, I quickly realized my true passion was insurance, financial products, and most importantly, helping people understand the complexities of these products. That passion led me to American Senior Benefits (ASB) where I get to put that into practice every day of the week.
